All our skills days includes lunch, handy PDF handouts and checklists, a certificate of completion and a letter of reference from out tutor.

This program is suitable for farm workers who can operate a tractor but need more skill and confidence to work safely & efficiently while taking good care of this costly asset.
Our 6–hour practical course will give learners insight & practical skills in the following

This practical ½ day course is ideal for farm workers who need more riding skills and confidence.
The 4-hour training will cover the basics:

A Southland First!
A Farm bike Skills Day tailored to accommodate the Nepalese Dairy community in Southland. It is our same popular Farm Bike Smart Skills Day but with a Nepalese translator and handouts.
This practical ½ day course is ideal for farm workers who need more safe riding skills.
The 4-hour training will cover the topics:
- Health and Safety
- Active riding techniques
- Maneuver quad or 2-wheeler over various terrains
- Ride to different conditions
- Basic maintenance checks & fixes
Lunch provided
Certificate on completion and letter of reference for attendees. A summary letter will be provided for the employer’s Health & Safety training records.

4 hours hands-on-training in regulatory requirements & understanding your own farm’s effluent consent. Effective management practises for farm assistant level. Basic maintenance and repairs: shifting pods and irrigator, replace sprinklers, fit pipe connectors.

Suitable for first time or in experience calf rearers. Covering the basics of successful calf rearing including tips and tricks to work smarter (not harder) in the calf shed.
4x hours in small group sessions with an experienced calf rearing tutor covering the following topics:

Terminology used in the calf sheds
The importance of the newborn’s first 12-hour window
Colostrum management
Understanding calf behaviour
How to get the calf on the teat & drinking on a feeder
