EDUCATORS
Hannes and Lyzanne du Plessis arrived in NZ from SA in June 2003 with a baby, suitcase and $20 to start a new life in NZ. Hannes started as a Farm Assistant, and they climbed the Dairy Ladder quickly to Lower Order Sharemilkers within 5 years.
For the past 17 years they’ve Lower order Sharemilked and Contract milked various size herds from 300 to 1150 cows in the Waikato & Southland.
They’ve employed many immigrant and kiwi staff during the 17 years supporting and educating them and making sure they have the same opportunity to successfully climb the Dairy Ladder in NZ.
Hannes and Lyzanne founded their own training company, Agri Teach Me, and partnered with Agricademy in 2023 to bring affordable and effective agricultural training to Southland.

Hannes grew up on a Dairy Farm in SA and has a degree in Horticulture and Agricultural Economics.
Lyzanne was a city girl through and through and had to learn everything about dairy farming from scratch.
They homeschooled 3 boys right through their schooling years while running their Sharemilking / Contract Milking business together. Farm work and education goes hand in hand for them. Lyzanne worked at Fonterra as a service specialist and for Primary ITO as a Training Advisor. Hannes has been a Primary ITO verifier for the past 12 years.
MORE ABOUT OUR SUCCESS
Hannes and Lyzanne started lower order sharemilking only 5 years after they started in the industry as immigrants on Farm Assistant level.
They were placed 3rd in the Sharemilking Category in the 2007-2008 regional Dairy Industry awards
In 2012-2013 while Contract milking in Southland they were regional winners of the Farm manager of the year category in the Dairy Industry Awards.
They won the regional Health & Safety and the HR merit awards for the Farm manager category 2012-2013 at the Southland Dairy Industry Awards
At national Level, they won the HR merit award for the Farm manager Category in the Dairy Industry Awards 2012-2013
